February Round-Up: Track Builds, Live Events & New Partnerships
As always, February means one thing: track build time.
Our #NeonTeam returned as the main contractor for the storage, maintenance and installation of a 200-metre indoor running track at Utilita Arena Birmingham. Over the course of a full week, we worked alongside Dynamik Sport to deliver this impressive structure for Birmingham City Council.
Projects of this scale demand absolute precision, clear communication and total focus — even the smallest deviation can have serious implications. Thanks to the experience and dedication of our team, we achieved a smooth, on-time handover without a hitch.
Over at bp pulse LIVE, concert season was in full swing. We supported a packed schedule featuring Florence and the Machine, James Arthur, Nashville, Deftones and RAYE — keeping the venue moving seamlessly through a busy run of shows.
February also marked the start of an exciting new collaboration with Aston Villa Football Club. We began supplying crew and forklift drivers for their brand-new event space, The Warehouse — a venue set to make a big impact on Birmingham’s live events scene.
Across the NEC halls, it was another busy month of exhibitions. From Spring Fair to Ice Cream Artisan Show, SDSC, Packaging Innovations, Print & Promotions and PerformX Live, our team delivered stand builds, event portering and on-site storage solutions — ensuring stress-free builds and efficient breakdowns for our clients.
Sport was a major highlight too. The Netball Super League season got underway with the Super Cup in Sheffield, where our team built both competition and warm-up courts and installed over 500 square metres of carpet. We then headed to Worcester Arena for our first league stop, preparing roll-out mats for Birmingham Panthers.
One of the biggest challenges this month was the tight turnaround between Athletics and YONEX Badminton — just two days. We transformed the space from a running track into a fully equipped badminton venue, installing thousands of square metres of A3 Portable Junckers wooden subflooring, alongside competition, training and warm-up courts, plus full carpet installation.
All in all, February was a month of music, sport and high-energy exhibitions — and a fantastic showcase of what our team does best.
