August Round-Up: A Nice Break Before the Autumn/Winter Season
August is traditionally our quietest month of the year – a rare chance to pause, regroup, and prepare for the busy season ahead. While we welcomed the downtime to get back in shape, we still had some important projects and regular jobs to take care of.
Sports Floors
We kicked off the month at the University of Birmingham with the breakdown of the Yonex Junior Championships – what an event to be part of!
Our team also focused on maintaining the three Haro Roma courts we currently store. With a packed NSL season behind us, the floors needed some extra care. Every panel was cleaned, inspected for damage, repaired where needed, and packed away safely, ready for their next outing. Stay tuned – there’s more to come!
Arenas
Even though August is the quietest time for the arenas, we still supported some huge shows. From WWE to ASAP Natin, our team handled both seating and staging to make sure everything ran smoothly.
Exhibitions
August also saw us return to Excel London for The Love of Fantasy. Monopoly Events, one of our newer clients, asked us to support both the set-up and breakdown of this show. Our team loved being back at Excel London and working alongside the fantastic Monopoly Events team.
We also returned to a favourite venue of ours, David Ross Sports Village in Nottingham, where we laid carpet in two halls for an event.
Team Development
Staying in top shape isn’t just about keeping equipment in order – it’s also about keeping our skills sharp. This month, several of our team members renewed their forklift tickets, covering both B1 and B3 licences. We’re proud to say they all passed with flying colours – well done, team!
Team Celebration
To celebrate the great team we have – one that goes above and beyond at every job – we enjoyed a Neon outing to the Beer Festival at our home, the NEC. It was an unforgettable night where the team had the chance to relax, have fun, and celebrate our achievements from the January-August season.
Now, as September begins, we’re ready to turn the page. With fresh energy and focus, we’re looking forward to sharing with you the new projects that will carry us through the final stretch of 2025.
